We love beautiful things in any incarnation and have been fortunate enough to create many beautiful things with some of the most amazing people this great earth has produced.
BOOK of LOVE
In the 1990s I had been curating a series of annual events titled AMERICAN MASTERS which showed at Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro, Museum of Modern Art, Sao Paulo and other museums across Brazil. I had put Indiana in one of the exhibitions and created with him AMOR, an instant hit in Brazil. A number of artists from my generation felt Indiana, an artist I connected with since I was 13, considered Indiana washed up, a burn out and irrelevant.
FOUR SEASONS of HOPE
For artists of Indiana’s generation, the Four Seasons Restaurant, sadly gone, was a High Temple of Art. It was designed by Philip Johnson, the Dean of American Architects and a Kingmaker of Artists.

In Spring of 2008 I spent several days with Robert Indiana, with whom I had been both friends and a collaborator with for decades. Bob complained that everyone knew Love but no one knew who he was.

Intro
The beginning of American Image really happened at the 1964 World’s Fair when I met Robert Indiana, Andy Warhol and Philip Johnson at the New York State Pavilion with my grandmother.
